Hello & welcome job seekers! I'm Kate Lupo, the founder of Entry-Level Hollywood. As the industry's leading entry-level career coach, I'm proud to help college students and recent graduates land entry-level jobs and internships at top companies in the entertainment industry - at agencies, management companies, studios, networks, and production companies.
75 private clients hired at top entertainment companies
32 clients hired at top talent agencies (CAA, WME, UTA, ICM, APA, Gersh, and more)
1,200 students taught at over 11 top colleges/universities/Hollywood organizations
In 2013, I was named one of 10 Hollywood Assistants to Watch by Variety magazine, while working in the TV Lit department at ICM Partners, one of the world's top talent agencies. In those years working at the agency, I learned everything about the politics and process of landing entry-level jobs in Hollywood. At ICM, I also helped recruit numerous entry-level grads to the agency’s mailroom.
After ICM, I worked as a consultant for Mark Zuckerberg's political organization, FWD.us, where I helped organize celebrity partnerships with Academy-Award winning actor Jared Leto, and TV actor Paul Wesley (Vampire Diaries). I then went to work for the Director of UCLA Extension’s Entertainment Studies Certificate program.
In 2014, I launched Entry-Level Hollywood as my “passion on the side” while working full-time. It started with a year of pro bono coaching & teaching in my spare time. It was exhilarating to see that almost every single person I helped landed the job. I started by teaching foundational networking skills and I saw that, in particular, the interview prep work I taught was changing people’s lives. I knew I was on to something. Pretty soon, I presented my first sold-out “Hired in Hollywood” workshop at UCLA, and Entry-Level Hollywood was born. Since then, I have taught over 1,200 students through career workshops at Yale University, Dartmouth College, UCLA, UCLA Extension, Middlebury College, American University, Occidental College, University of California Irvine, the Youth Business Alliance of LA, JHRTS, Women in Film LA, and many more.
I have continued to build Entry-Level Hollywood as my side passion, just as I continue to build relationships with recruiters across the industry so I remain abreast of all hiring trends and insider info that will help my clients get hired faster.
I currently work at a major American museum in New York City, and continue to coach my amazing clients after hours & on the weekends.
Soon, I will be launching a larger site to help all entry-level job candidates (regardless of industry) understand the tactics and strategies needed to ace their interviews & land their first jobs. Stay tuned!
When I'm not teaching or coaching, I am a National Parks road-trip enthusiast, a Gilded Age historian, dance comedian, and lover of museums.
